This show, we had six graduates and two alumni. All of our readers conducted private sessions during the day fair, and four of them presented in the evening show. I am proud to say that our three apprentice readers, Rich Braconi, Alex Abrahantes and Kristine McAdams has successfully made a wonderful introduction as a launch for their professional careers.

So are you pretty much at your wit’s end? If so, you’re not alone. Communication and problem solving, especially at work this month, has taken it’s toll for many due to the erratic energies of Mercury Retrograde. It’s over! However, there is a week period where the energies need to stabilize, so I wouldn’t do anything risky right now if I were you.

This month was probably so draining for you that it may be time to ‘hand in the towel’ so to speak. Stop fighting and take a break. It’s time for a vacation or to at least take a day off from work. The energies are calming down now, so peace should be sought if you made a ‘mess’ this month!

You probably felt a little out of control in the past few weeks and have not even recognized yourself as you flew off the handle or said things that usually “weren’t you”. The good news is that you’re not crazy! Those things that no longer serve you need to be cast out! Make some decisions for change and go with it.

This past month has also been a very fear based month. Fears seemed to surface in the areas of finance and romance! These fears have been with you for many years and now is the time to let go and move on. This ‘unearthing’ was also seen literally during the earthquake in CA.

So moving forward, stop the self pity!! It’s not serving you. If you are reading this and you have been feeling sorry for yourself, this is a message for you to cut it out! The universe doesn’t respond to whiners.

Realize that you have the power to make choices in your life for the better and stop blaming others for your life circumstances. A question to ask yourself: Did you have a part in your life choices? Are you pleasing others rather than taking care of yourself? If so, who is the finger pointing toward? Yes, that’s right, YOU!

Have some GRATITUDE for your life already! It’s really not that bad. And if you want to change, then face the music, be uncomfortable and do it. Stop procrastinating and make some decisions. Take your innate power and wisdom back, and assume responsibility for your happiness and your life. If you start making decisions to make yourself happier, then those around you will benefit.

Some of you are addicted to drama and chaos and will find something wrong no matter what. Great things are around you but you can’t see them. If you are a drama king or queen (you know who you are!), then use that your advantage and create some new exciting opportunities for yourself in a positive way. Go on an impromptu trip, scream on a thrill ride, or try an extreme sport. Create some positive drama!

Now, after all that, relax!!! Take some time out for yourself over the next two weeks until this energy stabilizes and get out of your own way. Do the things that make you happy, and turn your phone off! Take a break from television, especially current news. Spend some time at a pool or around water to clear negative energies. You really need to replenish right now!

Marisa Pell is truly the New Appealing Star in the Spiritual arena like no-one we’ve experienced before.

Marisa Liza Pell is a Spiritual Medium and Medical Intuitive – and one of the youngest in the media today. She is the most down-to-earth and disarmingly honest Spiritual Medium I have met. She also looks like the girl next door and doesn’t have black beady eyes or a crystal ball. The two clients that Marisa reminds me of most of are Susan Miller, America’s number-one selling Astrologer, who has managed to make the esoterica of Astrology real to Americans, and Shirley MacLaine, whose own spiritual journey is always accomplished with wit and insight.

In fact, when I first asked Marisa how she explains what she does on a daily basis to people she meets, she laughed and said, “I do what I feel, and I tailor it to the person asking. April Inspirational Message From Marisa Pell

Greetings!

As I’ve mentioned last month, the energies surrounding us right now are very abrasive. You may have noticed that people are cutting with their words, and arguments may have surrounded your relationships. It is best to lay low right now, as “smooth sailing” is not on the horizon.

No need to worry, because the energies will be shifting mid month to a more flowing dynamic. This month focuses on our emotions rather than on career and financial decisions. April is not the best month to set the latter into place, because of the erratic energies that are surrounding everyone’s emotions.

People may not be rational right now. There is also a pattern of not following through with business promises made. If you have a hired a company to do work for you, do not expect it to be done on time. Most important deadlines may not be met this month. Meditation and alone time is extremely beneficial to the overworked mind. Even if you are a “people person”, it is best to tune in to your personal needs this month. Get a massage, relax with music and cook a meal at home. Spend time with a loved one, but don’t engage in too much cerebral discussion. It’s time to just BE, and perhaps be alone. Make your environment as relaxing to the mind as possible, and just sit.

Personal development and self care should be the focal point this month. You have probably let yourself go over the past few months, whether that be diet, nutrition, exercise, or just plain nurturing. It’s a great time to buy new clothes, and to get outside in nature. Gardening will help connect you to the earth if you are feeling imbalanced. All in all, don’t expect too many major changes this month and try not to make an impulsive decisions. This month is great for planning! So plan some vacation time instead!

I can’t believe the swift shift (those two words are a little tough to say together) in energy that came upon us starting on Monday of this week. Because it is so powerful, I wanted you to know about it so that you can use it to your advantage.

This is a MONEY MAKING week! If you own a business or you are in sales, or any service related industry, this is the week to up the ante and make up for slow moving income in the past couple months. As the mind is ripe with new ideas, it is moving faster than the physical body. They are both in a polar opposite space this week — meaning that your body may feel sluggish, and you may experience quite a bit of joint pain and just general malaise. So physically, you may not want to leave the house. That’s ok if you can work from home, because the shift in energy may be quite too cutting to some very sensitive people. If you have to leave the house, do the best that you can to not procrastinate and get what you need to get done! It’s best to be ahead of the game and not behind in the upcoming weeks. This is the best time to make decisions and stick with them. Drink a lot of water this week!

Beware of anything “cutting” to the physical body around this time. This refers to surgery and especially invasive dental procedures. You may not heal as quickly. Mental energy is high, so any work you can do to pormote yourself, your business, or even get work done, do it through the computer and any other fast paced technology.

This is a great time for those in the TV and Film industries as funding will rocket in out of nowhere. Timing is of the essence, because this shift will occur quickly and leave quickly, so there will be no room for negotiations of contracts or asking for more money than is offered. Take the first offer, as it will be very profitable. If you try to nickel and dime, they will pull out and make the offer to someone else. Be grateful, and jump on the opportunity. 

Get as much done as possible during this week, especially through the weekend. If you have to work over the weekend to get the practical details in place, do so. It will pay off when the energy slows down. Those who editing jobs will find that this energy is perfect to get the job done.

Those in creative positions may not do as well. If the project isn’t already in post production, there will be too many minds going a mile a minute to try to have their say. Minds will come together to finish and not to start.

On a sad note, there may be a high rate of suicides during this time, due to the mental energy of making up one’s mind instantly. The weather will be very erratic, especially for those near water. Rain storms will most likely prove heavy along with high winds. The ocean will have strong rip tides. This is also a time of the mind racing so much that it tends to be a bit erratic, especially while driving. Try to stay off the road if you don’t need to go out, namely during rush hour and times where there are rain storms.

This is a great opportunity to connect with your customers, or with other business associates. Networking with work will prove to be very beneficial!

Ok folks, here we go. Time to buckle your seatbelts and be ready for the ride of your life. Any risk taken now will be ripe with opportunity! But don’t think that ‘time’ is on your side, because it’s not. The monthly energy isn’t going to wait until you’re ready. The train is leaving whether you’re ready or not. The best thing to do right now is to get on, and think later!

If you are excited about an opportunity, please take my advice and do NOT tell someone you need time to think it over. As quickly as the news comes, the sooner it will leave. These opportunities are once in a lifetime, and you WILL have regrets if you don’t jump on them.

There is no time to mull over or analyze any situation. If you don’t take the leap, someone else will be just as happy to take your place. I feel the excitement in the air as this new surge of energy hits us. There will be many celebrations to come this spring, especially in the month of May. Contracts will be in hand, and by fall, a new way of life is about to begin.

This is especially true with new business opportunities and job proposals. There is no time to ‘rest on your laurels’ and compare other options. By May, this new plan will be confirmed. You will have the summer to prepare, but by fall, you will need to be organized to get moving and will stay very busy throughout the whole rest of the year.

These opportunities are coming in a thunderous fashion and ‘breaking down your door’ before you are even prepared for them. Forget about what is in the news, and get your head out of worry and fear. Just for now, be a little excited about what lies ahead for you and believe that DREAMS REALLY DO COME TRUE!

On a recent impromptu day trip to Atlantic City, we decided to stop at the Borgata Casino and Hotel to walk around, eat at the buffet and perhaps play a few games. I am not much of a gambler, but I had been to the Borgata before in previous years and really enjoyed the atmosphere. So I thought it would be a good idea to stop in and walk around. I was feeling rested, happy and ready to explore.

Within thirty seconds of walking down the retail hall from the garage entrance I noticed a strange artificial smell. I became spacey, lightheaded and short of breath immediately upon arrival. Along with that I had cold and numbing sensations down my legs and adrenaline shot through my system in waves. It looked at if we were walking in slow motion. Thinking perhaps it was just me, I told the person I was with what I was feeling. To my surprise, they were experiencing the exact same sensations! We both had trouble walking down the hall, and never made it to the casino entrance.

We turned around and walked back out to the parking garage and soon as the fresh air hit, both of us felt normal again, and I could breathe. The lightheadedness went away. So, we thought let’s walk in again and see if it gets better. This time we kept walking into the casino and tried to sit down for something to eat. The shortness of breath got so bad that we had to walk out again. Granted there were people who were not affected by this, but both of us were. I myself, suffer with various seasonal allergies and food sensitivities, and I find that the cleaner my lifestyle is, the more I do react to. The less toxic I become, the more intolerant and sensitive I become of anything toxic in the air. 

After we left again, we felt normal but drained and decided to try Harrah’s instead. When we walked in everything felt fine and we could breathe normally. The difference was that you could smell the residue from the smokers, while at borgata this artificial scent seemed to mask it. I couldn’t understand what was going on. As I was thinking, I remembered a similar incident when I went to the Tropicana a few months back for a comedy show. There was a smoky mist coming out of the vents in attempt to create an outdoor night atmosphere for the re-created town. While standing in line for the comedy show, I had the same type of reaction.

When I got home, I decided to do some research to see if there were any other reports from people having the same reactions and I came up with many confused people writing posts not knowing why they were responding this way. I also found a detailed article about the scented air products:

I am very concerned for those people who may become harmed by these toxic chemicals being outputted and designed by companies to put in hotel and casino vent systems. We have enough pollution in our atmosphere the way it is! This could raise some serious health concerns for those who have serious asthma and for small children.

Ok, so I’m getting pretty frustrated with the domino effect of the negative thought obsessions with the economy. Granted, there is a crisis, however, the media has a very strong hold on how we think as a whole and make our decisions. What if the people at the news station decided today to tell us that the economy is back and better than ever? Would you have a change in thought even though it may not be true?

It’s time to seek your own wise counsel and operate from an intuitive standpoint rather than follow a negative wave of thought consciousness. Get creative and find ways to have fun generating income. If you have a lot of money, spend some to keep a neighbor in business.

To be blunt: If your thoughts go to worry and fear, you are contributing to the economic crisis. At a time when people need some hope and inspiration, the country needs strong leaders and positive thinkers.

Why not be one of them? Don’t get me wrong — I’m not telling you to go spend all your money! What I am saying is to not let your mind go racing into gloom and doom thinking!

Tailoring back your expenses right now is a smart idea. Mentally planning for poverty is not. Money is energy, and needs to keep circulating. Hoarding and holding back in fear will stop this circulation. Eventually, the energy of your own money will come to a halt.

If you don’t circulate your money, money cannot be circulated back to you. Think about it — what if everyone stopped spending all their money right now? There would be no businesses, no jobs, no grocery stores, no doctors, no home builders, no electrical company — I can go on and on.

We all depend on all of these things — but what do all of these have in common? PEOPLE! People need money circulated back to them to live and put food on the table. If these PEOPLE are making money, more companies can thrive and MORE JOBS can be created to give more people the opportunity to provide for themselves and their families.

Spending wisely within your means is fine. Any extreme activity can be destructive. Affirm that you’ll make it through. Think in terms of abundance. Give your waitress a good tip (provided she/he give you good service!)

Don’t try to cut corners, or pull a fast one just to save some money. This energy will be returned to you three fold. Just do the right thing. Help people in your family, office or community to stay positive. Do something fun that doesn’t cost a lot of money. These moments with friends and family are priceless anyway.

Something else to try: ASK YOUR SPIRITUAL SOURCE FOR MORE ABUNDANCE. Pray and ask for help! Stop relying on your own resources. If we follow spiritual law, we will only know abundance. Ask humbly for help in good faith for your needs to be provided for, and they will be in one way or another.

An ineffective way is to DEMAND your spiritual source or higher power for WHAT YOU THINK YOU WANT. The universe will deliver your abundance in unexpected ways. These ways may not be money directly given to you. A family member may help you out, or someone may pick up the check for dinner.

BE GRATEFUL for your abundance and circulate the energy of abundance and it will be returned to you!

As you all know, I have many sessions a week to connect to those who have passed. Since I have been doing this for a while, it takes a lot to send me over the edge.

Today I met with a client who has been to me previously due to his son’s passing of a drug overdose. I am always a bit reluctant with returning clients, because I know that the same person may not come through each time. I don’t want their grief to be worse if the spirit isn’t the one they would like to connect with.

I always love working with those who have ties to other countries.  It’s always interesting to channel messages with relatives who don’t have American names. It definitely makes me very excited, because names that come through aren’t the usual Joe’s and Tom’s.  Don’t get me wrong — if a client sits down and I get the name Tom and it’s the person’s father who passed, that’s amazing. However, it doesn’t shock me to pick up on American names in a session.

My client is Greek. Since his son already came through twice, I told him I wasn’t sure what would happen in this session. I knew going into the office today that if his son did come through, it may only be for a short time due to the fact that he crossed over after the last session. I had a feeling a few of his other relatives needed to talk to him. I didn’t know how he would handle that. But I have a soft heart for him, and I knew whatever happened he’d be happy with.

As we started the session, he assured me that whatever happened he was ok with. Sure enough, his father who passed a year ago came through with a lot of information about his family and health. He didn’t have the best relationship with his dad, so the connection needed to happen both for his healing and for the spirit of his father to cross over. I felt as though they were bickering during our session! It was pretty amusing to watch my client look over my shoulder and tell his dad to talk about other things!

During the session, his father mentioned two Greek names which happened to be my client’s mother in law who just moved in with them as well as her brother — all things that happened within a week’s time. The next name threw me for a loop because it was a very common American name, so I doubted myself and almost didn’t say it.

I thought for sure he wouldn’t know what I was talking about. But instead, I knew better and said, “Who’s BOB?” I even felt funny telling a Greek guy, ‘BOB’. That just didn’t even make sense. But his eyes widened and said, “BOB! Oh yes, that’s what I call my dog!” A Greek man naming his dog Bob! I couldn’t believe it.  In addition to the name Bob, information came about coughing.  Apparently, his dog Bob is having coughing spells! That just goes to show me I need to keep my analytical mind out of things and just pass the message along that the spirit is trying to tell me.

Ok, so you’re probably wondering — if this message is so simple why is she telling me all this other stuff? I have no idea myself. I just start writing and then all these other stories come out!

So anyway…my client’s father steps aside and his son comes through next. He relays a few messages and then stops. The next image in my mind was a hat, and I got the feeling that it was his son’s hat. It was one image. I didn’t know what to make of it. So I said to the father, “He’s mentioning one of his hats. Do you have a hat of his?”

Here’s where I was shocked. My client starts to well up with tears, and goes into his coat pocket and pulls out his son’s winter hat that was scrunched in his side pocket. He told me that he forgot that he had it until I mentioned it, and brought it to show me. He then placed it on the table and we both just sat there in silence. It was an amazing and moving moment.

If you have not already, please see my first post below on energetic shifts approaching us in 2009. This post will be a continuation of the first post, and it will be helpful to read that one first.  As I sit here today on the day of the presidential inauguration, the energy of this day is intense. A lot of you may be at the edge of your seats wondering what is going to happen with our country during this shift.

I want to first begin by stating that the information I receive is in the form on images, thoughts, feelings and words, and represents energetic transmissions I am picking up in the present moment. I do not like to use the word “prediction” because I feel that individuals and well as groups can use free will to affect a change in course.  However, if the energy I am picking up continues on that course, then what I am seeing can manifest itself — provided it is on the same path at that time. I believe the information is to be used to make these free will choices for the betterment of the self and society. I don’t believe in a “Set in stone” mentality. So, in essence what I am writing, is an energetic imprint in the form of channeled information. This is the same process I use as a medium and medical intuitive. The information is neither positive or negative. It just is.

That said, here is what I am picking up. There will be a period of rebellion due to the severe energetic shift from 1/20/09, not of a physical nature but of a mental nature. This will probably be seen in the form of a three month transition. Change, in this form, will be viewed in the extremes by US citizens. Some will be elated, almost in a manic state due to the inauguration of President Elect Obama.

On the other extreme, others will not accept change and go to extreme measures to make their point. As a whole, the “mentality” of our country will be in a state of imbalance and dysfunction — almost bi-polar. Those who cannot accept change will want to make their dissatisfaction known, and will not be able to do so directly to those involved in government. This will then come out in other ways on innocent people due to these extremists acting out on those that do not agree with their beliefs.

Race will not be the main issue of contention. Religion will be the target, and many of the countries popular religions will be targeted this year by groups wanting to speak their peace. Many people feel that they are not being heard, so they will start to do so through creating news for the media to cover. This news will not be legitimate but will be drama based, and many journalists will use this as an open door to make their own personal beliefs heard. All in all, people want their say, and will do anything to get the attention of the media within the next few months. Sadly, the media will take the bait.

Leaders of the catholic faith will be targeted through secrets exposed and blackmail. People will start to come forward with religious corruption by men of faith. An orthodox jewish rabbi may also be at the center of the media due to frequenting illegal massage parlors. Prostitution rings will be uncovered only to find men of religious stature involved. Churches will start to close down due to lack of funding. People around the country will start to question organized structures in their religions due to money donated that was not accounted for. Illegal scams also will become present from large amounts of money being spent on extravagances by the leaders of faith.

In the crux of this political and economic shift, people are feeling safe within their faith and spiritual beliefs. These traditional practices are where those who are suffering are finding comfort and solace in difficult times. To see these structures exposed and dissolved will make people feel that they can no longer trust in spirituality.  This will lead many to think they have no where to turn. They may question their years of faith and may feel more alone than ever.

This year will see spiritual leaders coming out of the woodwork to carry the message of God and spirituality to the people. These will be men and women who are non-denominational, and who have been trying to get out their message for decades. At this time, their messages will not fall on deaf ears. People will be in the most pivotal spiritual shift in their lives. Open minds will result from desperation and lack of hope. Those seeking will find that their spirituality can never be taken away from them. They will find that man and organization is ultimately flawed and human, and will fail them in some way. Equality will take the place of people being put on pedestals. People will start to seek the spiritual space within.

This openness will also migrate to the medical arena. More and more people will be interested in holistic and integrative medicine to aid in their healing. It’s not that these modalities will be promoted more, its that the people will start to seek them out.

The president will remain calm and positive throughout this energetic and spiritual shift, and may even provide spiritual messages of hope throughout this process.  Measures are being taken to secure his protection three fold both physically and spiritually, and those rebelling against him will not be able to for long. As with any change, people will rant and rave and complain, but after a while acceptance will take over. People will get tired of fighting a fight that they can’t win, and will eventually move on to other conflicts in their own lives. President Elect Obama’s messages will soften the toughest of hearts and you will see through internet polls that many have changed their minds and will become supporters over time.

There will be a three month window of media upheavels from 1/20/09. This is likened to the tantrum that a child pulls when they don’t get their way. It will boil down to a lot of drama, and the media will be over it after a few months. All in all, I feel a very powerful shift with President Elect Obama and wish him all the best in his upcoming term. Today we are still in a mercury rx period, so there may be glitches and delays with electronics during the inauguration — as well as some setbacks. However, everything will be handled. I also see something happening with the microphone feed to the tv cameras. You may see a slight glitch tonight in that the audio may be off for a few seconds.

* This will be a great year to buy a car, but not a great year to sell or trade in. The value of American cars will depreciate rapidly into the summer months. However, japanese cars like honda and acura should hold firm.

* On the medical end, I see a rare disease appearing in the headlines that will create a slight scare. However, within a short time, there will be a solution.

* Animal shelters will need more aid than ever. Overpopulation and lack of funding may leave some shelters with no choice but to close down.  Animals are not responding well to the energetic shifts of the planet so may not appear adoptable when people come to visit them.  Less adoptions of older animals will happen this year. Breeding will be on the rise, and also more regulations and fines will be upheld with puppy mills and illegal animal activity. Penalties will become severe and fines for this will be astronomical.

* Those with joint, lower back, and muscular pain should be very careful this year and make sure to get exercise. The joints will not respond well to 2009 shifts.

* There will be an elevated level of mercury in our fish. Be extra cautious of fish markets, especially open fish markets in large spaces.

* There will be a medical report in the media surrounding infant and animal vaccinations. A filler, or toxic chemical will be exposed. One type of vaccination may become obsolete. Angry parents will form activist groups against vaccinations and will get the attention of government agencies.

* In the north east, there will be new state wide regulations in public schools that will cause some disruptions. This may begin in one state like PA and go to NJ and NY.

* I see problems with mountainous regions and terrains. Some ski slopes may have problems with the terrain and some may experience rock slides. This will most likely affect business rather than personal danger.

* In the summer of 09, I see a week long treacherous heat wave.

* There may be a merging of sporting goods stores or apparel, or talk of a partnership.

* Real estate will not plummet as low as predicted. We will still see a decrease in property sales, but real estate will return better than ever within 2 years.

Hello Again,

I mentioned in my inspirational message for January that I would expand on the current energies that will be affecting us in 2009. So here you are!

The new year did not start out with a bang. Instead it’s murky and slow. You may feel down in the dumps because of the slump in energy. But Don’t be fooled! 2009 is not a year to mess with! Every change imaginable will happen both in the world and in individual lives. Now, of course change is inevitable, so you may be thinking of the normal changes that everyone goes through - - jobs, health, relationships, etc. However, this is not the energy I’m referring to. The changes this year will be of monumental proportions, and will explode like a volcanic eruption.

Be prepared to throw away everything you’ve been doing in the past ten years. If you’re not a “go with the flow” type person, it’s time to practice. The change will be like a sword swiftly cutting away what no longer exists for you. The blade is focused and swift.  If you just stay still, it will swipe away what no longer serves you with ease and leave a clean path for you to move forward. If you struggle, you are going to get cut!

Now, that sounds a bit gory, but it’s the truth. Those of you not good with handling complete directional shifts will probably not be happy when your comfort zone is rocketed to pieces.  On the other end of the spectrum, this could end a two year period of boredom that you may have felt in 2007 and 2008. This year will be (hands down) the most exciting and riveting year for you in the past decade. So if you like big bangs, fireworks, and light shows — hold on because your life will be everything BUT boring!

If you are in the mood for a bit of adventure, you’ve gotten on the right ride.  Many ideas you have will be impulsive, but with a knowing you can’t explain. If you move, it probably won’t be a move to the next town. One day you may feel like moving across the country for no reason, and you won’t know why. Just do it! Some of you may feel that your job has run it’s course and may quit for no reason and pursue an entirely different career.

The key word is freedom. You feel it in your bones. There will be a feeling of wanting to run free and experience life with vigor. Obligations may be holding you down. You just may decide one day to relinquish it all for the experience! If you do, you will finally feel alive again.  Those with millions may sell their large homes and move to the country side for some fresh air. This year will be one of the most important years to free the spirit from material bondage. Some of the countries most inspirational best sellers will come out this year from unknown authors who have made this switch to freedom.

The economic breakdown is really a spiritual breakthrough for us as a society! The universe needs to take things away from us in a drastic way so that we could see the importance of our spiritual development. Perhaps we really need more of “life” to fill our souls. Tend to your soul garden in the upcoming months! Now is a great time to get a personal trainer and build your body stronger through weight resistance. This is not a year for taxing diets, cleanses, or weight loss programs. You will need strength for the energy coming your way. Those with eating disorders, especially those struggling with bulimia and anorexia, could have serious consequences with their health this year. You will need to build your immune system properly for the upcoming months.

Unlike 2008, this is not a “mental” year. This will be a physical “feeling” year, of pure momentum, experience and “being”. Since we are not used to that, it will feel a bit strange. Because of the “mental” imbalance in the universe due to the “electronic addictive fix”, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a huge electronic meltdown, blackout, or system crash this year. The world wants our heads to stop racing!

As a culture, we will be getting very clear messages this year that mother nature is in charge. The weather will be completely unpredictable and in some places damaging.  The good news is that we could shift all these imbalances by progressing ourselves spiritually and raising the consciousness of the universal energy. Just like Yin and Yang, if everything is in balance, things cannot and will not go out of balance.

On a great note, if you are looking for a big break, this is the year of luck, prosperity and complete change! Enjoy the ride!

Rich Braconi, who was featured in November’s graduation show, has made headlines on the front page of the Trenton Times today for a previous 2002 ruling that may indeed change New Jersey case law. While the ruling has been controversial, Rich’s detective work has been praised throughout Hamilton township for solving a robbery that put five men behind bars. Congrats Rich!

I can’t believe another year flew by! We are on the verge on many changes this year, so it’s time to stay positive. 

However, it is a year of simplicity and realizing what is really important. This will be a very significant year for special relationships, especially those with family and friends.

Great relationships will be built this year, and also romantic prospects will move to the next level. This is also a great year for engagements, weddings and surprise gatherings. I will post a blog dedicated to this energy after the inspirational message for this month.

So let’s get to January! Are you feeling sluggish, tired, a little lazy and worried about funds? Welcome to the shadow period of the astrological aspect of Mercury Retrograde! The energy is moving at a snail’s pace, and you may actually feel the slowing down feeling in the air around you. This is classic a few days before Mercury goes into retrograde. Don’t expect large amounts of money, job offers, or important meetings to blast off in the coming week. If you can, I would postpone any major business meeting or proposals for another two weeks. However, we will still be in retrograde at that time, so it would be best to wait until the second week of February to begin all new projects. If that isn’t possible, try to at least postpone dealings for another week or two. People are just not very excited right now, and have a foggy brain, so they may just brush off what you are pitching or proposing. Ideally, it would be best to wait until this energy speeds up a bit.

Days for romance are ideal right now. Because business is slow, it may be a great time to slow down with your partner or even a few close friends and enjoy the relaxing energy.

It is also an ideal time to get your body moving. Sluggish energy can lead to destructive eating and drinking habits that may be hard to kick once life gets busier. And it will very soon! The weather this month will be very erratic. I wouldn’t plan a ski trip until the last minute due to the strange weather patterns this month will have to offer.

The message of the month — take a load off! Rest, relax and renew, because mid January will start to pick up and you’ll wish you had the time to get your energy settled from the busy holiday season.

As with any mercury retrograde period, expect electronic issues, missing voicemails, people from your past coming back, appointment cancellations, funerals, reunions, general forgetfulness and musical nostalgia.

Slow down and enjoy yourself!

December is going to be quite a slow month, but the mind and the body are not in sync. Bills that you did not expect will pop up unexpectedly and there may be a lot of confusion trying to get things done. You’re not in a rush, but mentally you may feel clouded and those little things may seem to pile up and make you a bit stir crazy. You want to take care of things, but what do you do with everything on your plate? Basically you may feel as if your mind is trying to rush while you’re walking through quicksand.

A word of advice: don’t get ahead of yourself! Take each event as it comes and only deal with what is currently in front of you. A foggy mind will normally get overwhelmed and sometimes procrastination sets in and action ceases. Making a list will help a great deal, and setting time aside to eliminate distractions to get your work done may prove to be the best solution.

Even if you pride yourself on multi-tasking, I wouldn’t recommend it this month. Answering your cell phone while you’re trying to get work done will only cause more problems. You will need total silence to finish your tasks from beginning to end.

Financially, those unexpected expenses may have you frustrated, but don’t worry. January is a money month, so pay off all your bills in full this month even though you may think you can’t. Don’t let those finance charges creep up, and start the new year off on a clean slate. You may also realize that you forgot to pay some bills in the previous months, so you may have double payments from previous months.

All in all, this overwhelm make make you feel a bit down in the dumps. Just know that things will bounce back and you will feel a lot more energized in January! It’s best to slow down now, and have some private time with those you love.
